Meet Jeff Bland and Jane Mitchell
Meet Legacy Society members Jeff Bland and Jane Mitchell. Jeff and Jane started coming to Jackson over 36 years ago, and they became Legacy Society members because they were moved by the Jackson Hole Land Trust’s work across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Learn more from Jeff and Jane about why they want to support conservation in Northwest Wyoming.
We became homeowners in Jackson 35 years ago after multiple visits that created our desire to make Jackson a permanent part of our lives. We are still thrilled we made that decision.
We came to know the Jackson Hole Land Trust through attending annual events. We were impressed with its positive interaction with the local community to serve as stewards of the scenic beauty, the unique wildlife, and the Western lifestyle—while developing major public projects that benefit Jackson residents, such as the Greenspace on the Block. Beyond city limits, the Jackson Hole Land Trust’s expertise in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem brings important support and understanding to conserve what feeds our spectacular environment.
One of the most inspiring and surprising aspects of the Jackson Hole Land Trust is how much mutual trust has been built across the six different counties in which the Jackson Hole Land Trust works and the positive relationships that have been built across communities.
We’ve included the Jackson Hole Land Trust in our estate plan so that future generations can count on the organization’s ongoing stewardship to guide and implement thoughtful planning for preserving the unique qualities of Jackson and its broader ecosystem. We encourage others to join in feeling the satisfaction of gifting beyond their lifetime to perpetuate the cherished qualities that make this land so special.
