“Slide into R Park” empowers the minority youth of Jackson. This collaborative program launched in 2018 between R Park, Slideluck Youth Initiative, Latino Outdoors, and the Art Association of Jackson Hole. The project utilizes the open spaces of R Park, and encourages kids to develop and inspire visual storytelling skills with onsite photography lessons connecting storytelling and land stewardship. By the end of the program, students will have a series of original R Park photos. The images will be displayed at three community meeting spaces for the viewing of the general public. While the project aims to provide kids with a better understanding of photography basics, participants will also foster an appreciation of the importance of open space and nature to the creative process.
