Water Resources

Clean, dependable water plays an integral part in the function of the wildlife habitat, ranches, and human communities of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The JHLT supports our landowners who look to improve their water resources for agriculture, wildlife habitat, and improved water quality. There are many programs from agency and non-profit partners that work to improve water resources on private lands. Projects include:
• Trout Friendly Lawn Program
• Wildlife water access
• Stock watering improvements
• Water quality sampling
• Irrigation improvements
