Wind River

Where We Work

From River to Range

From the Wind River to the foothills of the Wind River range, this region is rich in wildlife habitat, the living histories of Indigenous communities, and working agricultural lands. The area is dotted with petroglyphs and other artifacts left by the Sheepeater branch of the Shoshone Tribe. Fremont County notably comprises crucial winter range for the Whiskey Mountain Bighorn Sheep Herd, once the largest herd of bighorn sheep in the United States, and provides critical habitat for migratory deer and elk herds from Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
