Conservation buyers typically donate conservation easements to the Land Trust within a year of their purchase. In this circumstance, buyers may become eligible for significant tax benefits, which can help offset the acquisition cost by 20% or more.

The Land Trust has a unique and intimate knowledge of the area, and has valuable relationships with long-time residents.
